What Wish Wore

The other day I was out shopping with my little Ava and I was wearing my orange 'hello' shirt and I had so many ladies tell me how much they liked it.  I was kinda like "ahhh thanks..me too!"...in my head that is.

My little sister likes to make fun of my shirts and it's kinda a standing joke.  She always asks where I get my shirts and then stops before I can respond and says some smart aleck remark. 

For example...I have a shirt that has dogs on it and she said "cute shirt where did you get it?....wait the pet shop."  

Then there is a shirt that I have that has giraffes on it and she said "did you get your shirt at the zoo?"

So this shirt she asked if I got it courtesy of the telephone company....to her amusement I said "YES I DID!" and the truth is...No I didn't.

I bought this shirt in June from Anthropologie and I am so glad I did.

I can wear it with jeans or skirts.  I can wear it tucked or untucked. It's a great playful shirt!

Today I decided to pair it with my green and white striped skirt, which also came from Anthro.

I don't love my arms so I try to keep them covered and so I put on this mustard-ish cardigan.  Honestly I have had the cardi for ages and it now has a small hole in the elbow..so I just bunch it up around my elbow when I go out and you can't tell. 

Today I have a meeting with a client and then a hot date with my hubby. 

When I meet with clients I like to look nice and also show off my personality.  At a wedding I may not wear this because I don't want to be too crazy at a wedding but for a client meeting you bet!

I wore one of my favorite perfumes today Acqua Fiorentina by Creed. 

It is a fruity floral. At first you smell the fruit, plums and apples, lemons and bergamot and then comes the florals, roses and carnations and pear blossoms.  It has a few more dry notes like sandlewood but it's really light.  It is such a pretty perfume.

I wore this perfume on the first day of Wish Retreat 2013 and every gal that gave me a hug commented that I smelt good...and I have to say...I did....and I DO TODAY!

I kept my makeup simple today and for my lips I chose a light gloss. 

I love this gloss by Dior.  It shines up your lips but brings out YOUR own natural color.

So when people ask what shade of pink I am wearing I can honestly say "Kandis...with a hint of gloss"

What Wish Wore {Utah Photographer}

So yesterday I was chatting with a friend and I was talking about how I need to be better about blogging and she gave me the most fabulous idea....she told me I should blog what I wore.

Now there's a reason behind it.... Number 1.  I simply adore fashion.  I enjoy mixing and matching patterns and textures.  2. It gives me a reason to go shopping more.  3. I want you to get to know me. 

The most important reason is seriously number 3.  I really want you to get to know who I am.  

I am really a fun, person and I want YOU to get to know that side of me. 

I am more than just someone who likes to create pretty pictures.  I enjoy laughter, friendships, yummy food, traveling and of course fashion.

So I tried my hand at self portraiture...not let anyone fool you...it is HARD!  

But I really wanted to show off my outfit today. 

Today is a chill day so I didn't get really too dressed up.  Today is really a day of editing, cleaning and grocery shopping.  Later today I am going to bottle 2 bushels of peaches so I simply chose a pair of funky leggings.  (I love leggings...I have a stack of them).  I comfortable white T-shirt.  Seriously this is the best cotton T.  I have ever found! The brand is Tildon.  You can find it at Nordstroms.  It doesn't shrink...it's easy to wear..and it's comfortable.  And a old beat up cardigan that I have had for 4  years.  

I also love beauty as well and it's no lie that I am obsessed with fragrance.  

Because I am just kinda in a more relaxed look I wanted to wear a lighter more fresh fragrance and so I chose Coney Island by Bond Number 9 New York.  It has notes of  Margarita, Melon, Guava, even some chocolate and carmel.  It's fabulous!

My makeup today is really kinda simple...but I did put on this fabulous lip...by Lip Tar.  The color is called Grandma.  AWESOME...who doesn't want to wear a lipstick called Grandma. I actually didn't know the color until I looked at the back of it to tell you.  Lip Tar wears for a really LONG time. It's great!

Something Dirty....but something PRETTY {Utah Fashion Photography}

One day I was out with my hubby and girls looking for new locations for sessions and we went to this one spot and I instantly was inspired.  At this particular place there's this tiny path lined with trees and overgrown shrubs.  The roots of the trees sneak out on to the path ways and moss lines the base of the tree trunks.  I could instantly picture someone crawling out of them...something a little haunting.  As I brainstormed over ideas I was inspired by a story of a girl who had been beaten and left to die but she was a fighter and was able to pull herself up and keep on going..and through it all she remained beautiful and true to herself. 

I love finding inspiration from stories and places...so enjoy my session. 

Something Sweet. {Utah Fashion Photography}

My girls love bubble gum and lollipops and one day when I took them to a local candy store I saw a image of a girl on the back of a pack of bubble gum and she had pink skin but had this AWESOME multi-colored hair and a polka dot dress.  I was instantly inspired. 

SO I went searching for a model that would fit the mold and a polka dot dress.

Mandy was the perfect fit for my vision and this dress I found online was just what I wanted.
